Accounts & Finance Executive

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounts & Finance Executive to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the financial operations of both Glow, our leading lighting company, and Skyway, our property business. The role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the growth and efficiency of the finance function, ensuring accurate and streamlined financial processes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage a comprehensive accounting system to ensure the accurate tracking of the companies’ financial activities, including assets, liabilities, income, expenditure, and earnings.
  • Take control of the current accounting (Xero) system. Analyse and understand the accounts and operations of the trading company and find the best alternative system to source and implement. It is expected that this will be implemented within a period of three to six months.
  • Verify and allocate details of accounts receivable and payable transactions.
  • Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare and process invoices, cheques, account statements, reports, and other financial documentation.
  • Proactively manage and follow up on outstanding payments to ensure timely collection of amounts owed to the company, while maintaining positive relationships with clients.
  • Comparing sales vs. cost of sales on a project-by-project basis, providing insights to optimize financial performance and profitability.
  • Prepare and execute the payroll run for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate and prepare regulatory filings and reports, ensuring all deadlines are met.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process.
  • Maintain professional relationships with banks and other financial institutions to support the company’s financial needs.
  • Publish and issue monthly and quarterly management accounts for the trading company
  • Take control of the stock system and keep it up to date.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in accounting.
  • Near completion of an accounting qualification or very thorough experience and understanding of accounting practices.
  • Strong knowledge of local and corporate regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Highly organized and methodical in managing financial tasks.
  • Proficient in using accounting software, with preference for experience in Xero and Shireburn will be considered.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, ensuring client satisfaction from inquiry to delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address client needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Comfortable giving presentations or demonstrations of products and services to clients.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, particularly when reviewing quotes, and technical specifications.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have experience in the lighting industry.
  • Hold qualifications in any of the following fields: Design/Architecture/Commerce/Communications.
  • Are proficient in AutoCAD.
  • Are aware of current trends in the lighting and design industry and have a willingness to stay updated.

  • Are capable of carrying out site surveys and drafting plans.

  • Are familiar with current trends in lighting design.
